Sunken Temple last bosses not accessible because the shield doesn't break when you kill the troll minibosses

I ran a guild mate through Sunken Temple and we killed all the troll minibosses and there was no emote "the shield be down, rise up atalai rise up" so we couldn't kill the last boss or Jamal the Prophet for his quests, so we ran out and reset the dungeon and then did it again and still it refused to do the emote or unlock the last boss. Malfurion Stormrage was just standing there at the last boss idk if that's important or not.
